Laura's Sketch 13 - JOY

I made a few christmas cards using the wonderful Laura's Sketch 13.

I love the spotty paper in the figgy pudding collection but my pad only has one, so I got to work with my polka dot stamps from PTI and made my own version! I used distress inks and hero shadow pad to soften the edges. I was on a roll and managed to create four cards from this sketch! Well, you can never have enough christmas cards!

The robin is the new inkadinkadoo stamp I embossed, cut and put on 3d foam, finished with some Sakura sparkle and gems! Red velvet just screams christmas to me, so had to add it and this alphabet is delish!

Cute Card, Tilda Red and Green

Challenge 36, Red + Green
This week we would like you to use red and green on your card.

Well, I also treated myself to a couple of Tilda stamps and this card is the first time I've ever used magnolia's. This is Tilda with Whirling Snowflakes, so so pretty. I used watercolour and went with red and green which goes with the challenge over on Cute Card Thursday.
The Flocking was done on adhesive sheet which I die cut and adhered to paper, it's so difficult to photograph but I think the close up gives a good resemblance! Made my own ghost snowflake and embellished with stickles around the edges!

Basic Grey - Making Snowman Faces

I had a wonderful time at the NEC exhibition and chatted to many wonderful people. Lots of inspiration and a few purchases. I should have taken some pictures but it's just too busy and I'm not too good at that either!

Here's a card for the Basic Grey Challenge 11 - One for the boys...

I also used Lauren's Sketch, it's been a while since I had the chance to use one and it fitted my idea so well.

When I saw the made of snow set I knew that it would be great to incorporate a fun element. I wanted to try the view master technique and with the faces changing.

I'm so pleased how this card turned out! Mainly because I redesigned the working elements so that they work in the thickness of a foam pad!

I got to use my new long nestabilities too! (NEC buy) The hat and scarf have been stamped and embossed on patterned paper, cut then placed with 1mm foam.

These are all the cute snowman faces finished with copic markers! Dillon loved them! So he has his own mini version! Too Cute!

And doesn't this sentiment just make you smile?

Materials:
Paper: BG - Figgy Pudding, white card,
Die's: Nestabilities - Long Rectangle, circle and squares,
Stamps: PTI -
Made of Snow, Merry & Bright
Ink: Versafine - Black, Tim's distress inks, Colourbox chalks, Copic markers, sakura stardust,
Other: Pretty pearl, 3D foam, Big Bite & eyelet,

Thanks for stopping by, will be catching up on all your blogs over the next week, BiG HuGs, have a good Sunday, Kim x

Card for a child

A Spoon full of Sugar's - Challenge 25 ~ A child's card

I wanted to try one of these shadow box cards. They're lovely to make and can be flattened for the envelope.
This is for a seven year old girl, but she's not girly girl, so I went for soft colours and not pinks! She happened to get a new kitten for her birthday so what better image! Here's a detail of my dimensional paper piecing, just can't get enough of that!
Materials:
Die's: Nestabilities - Circles. Sizzix - Trixie girl alphabet. Butterfly punch
Stamps: Sugar Nellie - Sweet Ebony, Kitty. PTI - sentiment
Ink: Versafine - Black, Copic sketch markers.
Other: Sakura gel pens, Scrapbook Adhesives Mounting Squares, Glossy accents, Adhesive gems.
This is just a little tutorial...
1. Cut 2 patterned papers 14.5 x 14.5 cm and score at 1cm and 2cm on each edge. On front die cut circle and (you could die cut smaller circle from separate piece to create a frame).
2. Stamp Image on to white card and using copic markers colour the head, hands and feet. Then using the black ink, stamp different parts of the image on scraps of patterned paper
3. Next cut out each stamped section, then layer image using 3d foam and glue to create Dimensional paper piecing. Highlight with pens and glitter to finish.
4. Die cut sentiment, edge with glitter pen add a few flowers from kit. Attach to back of card with 3d foam, decorate with gems.
5. Punch butterflies and decorate, Stamp sentiment and add pretty gems. Then adhere front and back panel together with double sided tape on to edges! 3D box card can be flattened for posting!
Thanks for stopping by and for all your congrats, I'm still over the moon! HuGs Kim x

18 minutes, 19 minutes, Since I last posted on my blog......

That's way tooooooooo loooooooong, but so much has been happening and life tends to get priority but it hasn't stopped me crafting at all (just the blogging bits)! Apologies to my blogging buddies for not having visited or left comments but my best intentions seem to keep going out of the window!

So, I could go on and tell about stopping feeding baby Maoleidigh which I just had to grieve a little (such a softy), then Dillon brings endless bugs and sickness home to share with us, so I'm still trying to recover! But paper and ink calls and I have so much to share with you all!

Firstly I want to share a few stamp designs that are NOW ready to order at pink papery studios Woooooo Hooooo thank you Amy!!!!!

You'll find my designs in the Matter of perspective section and if you want the easy option there's also digi stamps! (Well digi is easy and it's really in... All you do is re-size it to your perfect size and then print it out... anywhere in the world, so no postage)

I hope you like them, there are a few more on their way & hopefully over the next few weeks I'll try & make some cards up with them to give you a little nosey.

In the mean time here's a little card...

Materials: Paper: BG - Figgy Pudding, acetate, white card,
